Privacy Policy
Last updated 13 June 2026
Plain-English summary, provided in good faith. This is a working draft to be reviewed against the Australian Privacy Act before public launch.
The short version
Junkly shows the exact pickup address of items so people can find them, but anonymises your identity. We never publish your real name, email or phone. Others see only a display name and contact you through in-app chat.
What we collect
- Your email, to sign you in via a magic link.
- Listings you post: photos, descriptions, and the pickup address/location.
- Messages you send through in-app chat.
- Basic, essential cookies to keep you signed in.
Photos & location metadata
We strip EXIF/GPS metadata from every uploaded photo before storing it, so a photo can't leak where it was taken beyond the address you choose to share.
What we never make public
Your real name, email and phone number are private. They're protected at the database layer and never included in anything shown to other users.
Third parties
We use trusted providers to run Junkly - hosting, database/auth, image storage, an AI vision model for itemisation, maps for geocoding, and payments for the optional Pro plan. They process data only to provide their service.
Your choices
You can edit or delete your listings, and request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Contact us via the app.
